LONGHORN GLASS THEME INSTALL
LONGHORN GLASS THEME UPDATE
VMware SVGA II - update the existing standard adapter (/Drivers/6.5.2/svga).
LONGHORN GLASS THEME DRIVERS
You'll have to install the following devices (remember to uncheck "find drivers on CD/DVD's and leave the directory option checked) iso, connect it to your VM and manually install each required driver located in the /Drivers/6.5.2 folder on the CD. I have set the CD Drive to IDE and I will try booting that way today.Įdit:It works, but I couldn't install the drivers.Go to this site. Winins wrote:Maybe I recall it wrong, I don't know. Will edit post once I get results.5219 unfortunately also blacks out and flashes on VMware 15.5.2 with 6.0/6.5-7.x compatibility modes. I also couldn't get the VMCI driver installed in 5231, because when I selected vmci.inf in the Add Hardware Wizard, the wizard wouldn't show me the driver to install, just a blank table.Įdit: Just noticed the word 'through' in what you said there, downloading 5219 now. I used 6.0 compatibility with 5231, as anything newer resulted in a BSOD. If I pressed CTRL+ALT+DEL, and clicked 'Start Task Manager', I could see the desktop, but the windows were rendering in the basic theme and I couldn't interact with anything. I couldn't get the VMCI driver installed for the same reason as 5231.ĥ231 resulted in only being able to see the desktop background and buildstring watermark. I used 6.0 compatibility with 5219, as 6.5-7.x resulted in a BSOD. I discovered that if I hovered my mouse over a desktop icon, I could see the whole screen, but it was mostly the same results as seen in 5212. I only tried 6.5-7.x compatibility with 5212.ĥ219 resulted in a more stable variant of the results I experienced in 5212, but it was still unusable. If I moved a window, I could see it was rendering the transparency effects. I could click and drag with the mouse and see my desktop but if I let go of the left mouse button it would disappear. I haven't tried these builds, so if anything I state below is me not activating aero properly let me know.ĥ212 resulted in the screen going black, but when I moved my mouse over something I could see only what I had my cursor over. I then run this batch script, also from :īeta.a.brian wrote:Can you verify that this works on builds 5212 through 5231? I had issues with those above VMWare 11.OK. Then, I enable the MILExplorer key and restart explorer. I then make a duplicate of jade.theme, and drop a aero.msstyles, usually I install a version with the Animated Preview Pane Aurora, but the default green works too. (this probably doesn't have an effect on getting it to work, it just gives you a smoother 4074 experience).
LONGHORN GLASS THEME PATCH
Then, I apply any fixes I can find, which is usually the New Folder fix, an activation patch and a services disabler. I install the VMCI, Audio and Display drivers. Then, I use Melcher's VMware 6.5.2 drivers which used to be found on, but I'll post a link at the bottom for the drivers you need. I set the version to Windows Vista and set the HDD to IDE.

Also, maybe everyone was referring to the VM hardware compatibility option and I have always read it the wrong wayįirst, I create a new VM, using custom settings.

I'm not making this post to prove I'm smarter than other members, I'm making this post because I'd like to share my method of getting 4074 aero to work in newest VMware versions, I've had 100% success with this exact method, and I'd like to share it with everyone.
